Generative AI At Work: ChatGPT, Copilot & Gemini

Working fluency with the AI your organization already runs: one prompting discipline taught across all three major assistants, then applied inside Word, Excel, Outlook, Docs, Sheets, and Gmail.

Most organizations have already chosen their AI tools. The choice usually arrived with the office suite: Microsoft 365 brought Copilot, Google Workspace brought Gemini, and ChatGPT arrived on its own through individual accounts. For most professionals, the practical question is how to use the tools already on their desktop well.

This workshop builds working command of the three major assistants, with the same disciplines AIPTD teaches across its applied AI programs: prompting that produces precise output, document analysis you can trust, research with sources, and the judgment to know when to verify. Every concept is taught in all three tools, so the skill survives whichever platform your employer standardizes on next.

The second session goes where the work is: Copilot inside Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams; Gemini inside Docs, Sheets, and Gmail; ChatGPT projects and custom assistants. Participants leave having rebuilt one of their own weekly tasks in the tool their organization runs, with a clear sense of where each platform is strong, where each is weak, and how to stay inside workplace data policy while using them.

Participants will learn to:

  • Apply a prompting discipline (clarity, context, constraints, examples) that works identically across ChatGPT, Copilot, and Gemini
  • Use Copilot effectively inside Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams, including meeting recaps and inbox workflows
  • Use Gemini inside Docs, Sheets, and Gmail for drafting, analysis, and summarization
  • Use ChatGPT projects and custom assistants for recurring, role-shaped work
  • Analyze documents and spreadsheets with appropriate verification habits
  • Choose the right tool per task, and recognize each platform's blind spots
  • Work within organizational data policy: what to share with which tool, and what never to paste

  • Uploading, interrogating, and verifying documents against the source
  • Researching with web-grounded answers and citations, and evaluating source quality
  • Building the verification habit of when to trust, when to check, and when to override
Session 02Integration

Inside the Tools Where You Work

  • Working Copilot inside Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams for drafting, formulas, mail, and meeting recaps
  • Using Gemini inside Docs, Sheets, and Gmail for the Workspace-native equivalents
  • Building ChatGPT projects and custom assistants for recurring, role-shaped work
  • Applying data policy in practice, from tenant boundaries to sensitive data and acceptable use
  • Rebuilding one weekly task of your own in the tool your organization runs
